December 8 update

Retirement is a blast! I wonder now how I ever worked and got anything done! It is nice to be able to spend time developing my interests in pottery and sewing.
Our sewing guild, Just Needles, just celebrated our 2nd Christmas together and the local paper is doing a write up about us complete with pictures! My sewing items are labeled GoulaGirl Designs.
My pottery is called Mud Stuff, and the end product is as "clear as muddy water" when I start working with a chunk of mud! I am now centering on the wheel in my wheel class and will be watching for a special delivery(my own wheel) come Christmas Day. I still do hand/slab building also. Glazes kick my butt. I have ruined some mighty nice items with UGLY glaze jobs! Oh well, LIVE and LEARN!

Retirement

Long time since I have posted. Summer is winding down and it does feel strange to not be getting ready for another school year. I'm afraid retirement will really hit me in August when school starts. I am glad to be away from the stress and pressures of the job, although I know I will miss the daily interactions with students and peers. I do look forward to enjoying the nice fall days and having time to decorate for the changing seasons and holidays as well as spend time on my hobbies.
